This September, as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we want to shine a light on the unsung heroes in healthcare who support children, young people and their families through every stage of their cancer journey – from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship, end-of-life care and bereavement.
Along your journey, you have probably met someone whose kindness, compassion or support made an incredibly difficult time just a little bit easier. It might have been a nurse, doctor, healthcare assistant, administrator, catering team member, cleaner, porter or another member of the hospital team who went above and beyond.
These everyday acts of care often go unrecognised, but they mean so much to the families who experience them.
If there is someone who made a difference to you or your family, we’d love to hear about them. Help us recognise the people whose dedication and compassion make a lasting impact, often without them even realising it.
