#GoGold

for September

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

#GoGold to help lighten the load for children with cancer and their families.

The gold ribbon is the international symbol of childhood cancer awareness.

Every September, we ask communities, creches, workplaces and businesses across Ireland to #GoGold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

By wearing gold, fundraising, sharing stories and showing your support, you’re helping to shine a light on childhood cancer and the challenges families face.

Every conversation started, every ribbon worn and every euro raised helps Childhood Cancer Ireland continue providing vital practical, emotional and social support to families when they need it most.

However you choose to #GoGold, you’ll be helping to lighten the load.

Make a Donation

Not everyone can organise an event, but everyone can make a difference.

A one-off or regular donation helps us to provide practical, emotional and social support to children with cancer, survivors and their families across Ireland.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, has an impact.

Community #GoGold

How to #GoGold for you & your community

No matter how much time you have or how you’d like to get involved, there’s a way for everyone to #GoGold.

Wear a Gold Ribbon Pin

Every ribbon worn helps make childhood cancer more visible.

Why not take a box of ribbons to sell in your workplace or local shops?

Host a Coffee Morning

Bring  friends, family, neighbours or colleagues together over a cup of coffee and some treats while raising vital funds for Childhood Cancer Ireland.

Organise Your Own Event or Challenge

Challenge yourself to something new or hold your own event – host a quiz night or arrange a bake sale.

Hold a #GoGold Day

Ask your children’s school or sports club to choose a day during September where everyone wears gold or yellow to show their support for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Other ways to Go Gold

Small actions shared across your community and online can help more people understand the realities of childhood cancer and the challenges families face.

Throughout September you can:

Light it up Gold Walk

Every year, we gather for a very special walk, filled with love, remembrance, and light. Families whose children are in treatment, survivors who inspire us with their strength, and those walking in memory of beloved children, all come together as one.

This year our candlelit walk will take place in Maynooth, Co. Kildare on Saturday 12th September 2026 from 6.30pm, bringing families and the community together in solidarity and to shine a light on living with and beyond childhood cancer.
