Every year we come together in hope and remembrance, for all of those currently undergoing treatment, for survivors and for all of the children and young people who have sadly passed away. This year our candlelit walk will take place in Maynooth, Co. Kildare on Saturday 14th September from 6.30pm, bringing families and the community together in solidarity and to shine a light on living with and beyond childhood cancer. Our short walk (approx 3km) will take place in the beautiful grounds of St. Patrick’s College Maynooth. Refreshments and children’s entertainment will be provided. Register here to attend

Will you scale the dizzying heights of Croke Park this year for Childhood Cancer Ireland? On 28th September 2024, our team will abseil from Croke Park Stadium, the third highest stadium in Europe, to raise funds for Childhood Cancer Ireland. Every day, our #GoldRibbonHeroes face their own challenges with unimaginable bravery. Now, you can take on your own challenge to show your support for all of the children, adolescents and young adults facing their own battles this year, and in honour of all of the children and young people taken far too soon by childhood cancer. • The minimum fundraising target for this event is €350.
• A €50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place.
• You must be over the age of 18 to take part.
• If you are over the age of 65, you must seek the advice of your GP before taking part.
• Fitness is not very important but agility/mobility is very important as reaching the start of the abseil requires the descending of 3 short ladders and climbing over a barrier. If you have mobility issues, please let us know. If you have had recent surgery, are or could be pregnant or you have back pain or other medical/mobility issues, you must seek your GP’s advice before partaking in this event.
• The weight limit is 120kg.

The CAYAS (Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult cancers & Survivorship) Conference is hosted by Childhood Cancer Ireland and CanTeen Ireland and is a wonderful opportunity to hear from those with a lived experience, to network with colleagues and to learn about new developments and plans.  Delegates range from clinicians and healthcare providers to parents, researchers, survivors and other people involved in the childhood, adolescent and young adult cancer community community, both in Ireland and abroad.  2024 Programme Content

As a parent and survivor-led organisation, we know that everything doesn’t just go back to normal when treatment ends. You may be feeling ‘stuck’ and unsure of what’s normal. In our parent workshops, we will explore how those months and years of operating on high alert have impacted us in different ways and how we move forward. We will provide some practical strategies that you can put in place to help you as an individual, a parent and a partner/friend. We are delighted to be joined by Dr Mairead Brennan and Debbie Cullinane, both of whom have a wealth of knowledge and experience of working with adults and children impacted by childhood cancer.
