DARE stands for Disability Access Route to Education. The scheme offers reduced points places to school leavers who, as a result of having a disability or significant illness (like childhood or adolescent cancer), have experienced additional educational challenges in second level.
Our educational webinar series will explore the DARE application process, the CAO application form and the CAO change of mind process, as well as supports that are available in third level.
1. Understanding the DARE application: Thursday 5th December 2024 at 7.30pm
2. Completing the CAO: Tuesday 14th January 2025 at 7.300pm.
3. CAO change of mind and supports in 3rd level: Tuesday 8th April 2025 at 7.30pm.
In the first of our webinar series, we are joined by Ann Marie Curran , Disability Outreach Officer, University of Galway. Ann Marie will discuss the DARE entry route into third level education for students following a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
She will outline how to complete the DARE application, including necessary documentation required, deadlines and completing your personal statement.
We will also explore the supports available in 3rd level.
This webinar is of interest to parents and students who are in senior cycle, including 5th and 6th year.
