Congratulations on your upcoming special day!
Your wedding celebration could help make a difference to the 369 children, adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer each year in Ireland if you choose to make a donation to Childhood Cancer Ireland in lieu of traditional wedding favours for your guests.
Childhood Cancer Ireland is a charity founded and led by parents of children with cancer.
Money raised is used to fund our support services for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer and their families. These include:
- Beads of Courage and Sibling Beads Programme
- Shared Care Hospital Project working to improve facilities in Ireland’s 16 Shared Care/ Regional Hospitals which children attend for treatment outside of Crumlin
- Parents’ workshops
- Access to play therapy / psychotherapy for children, young people and their siblings
- Peer to peer support
We are also working to raise awareness of childhood cancer and to make the gold ribbon the recognised symbol of childhood cancer.
Our Light it up Gold Campaign each September sees buildings all over Ireland North and South light up gold for childhood cancer awareness.
When you make a donation to the charity in lieu of wedding favours, we provide you with wedding favour cards with the option of a gold ribbon pin attached for your guest tables. This lets your guests know that you are using your happy occasion to shine a light on children with cancer and their families all around Ireland.
