Losing a child is an unimaginable heartbreak, and we know that no words can ease the depth of your grief. Here, we outline the support and resources available, as well as opportunities to honour the children you love and miss so dearly.
Emotional support for the whole family
Play therapy / psychotherapy
Our Play Therapy / Psychotherapy programme provides siblings with a safe and therapeutic environment to express their emotions and process the complex experiences associated with the death of a sibling from childhood, adolescent or young adult cancer.
Not all children require this therapeutic intervention, so we also offer Parent Advice Sessions, which helps to guide parents through supporting your children.
One-to-one psychological support
We provide tailored one-to-one psychological support
specifically for families whose child has died as a result of childhood, adolescent or young adult cancer. This support is available to parents and siblings. Having access to specialist support, with someone experienced in bereavement through childhood, adolescent or young adult cancer, is invaluable.
Bereavement grant
Our bereavement grant offers financial support to families during this incredibly difficult time. This once-off payment provides immediate assistance following the loss of a child to cancer, helping families to feel supported and allowing them to focus on their emotional wellbeing without the added burden of financial stress.
Webinars
We hold expert-led webinars on bereavement, looking at sibling grief and other aspects of grieving and bereavement that may be helpful. You can also access previous recordings
Remembering your child
We would be honoured to remember your child during their birthday and anniversary month and during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September. We do this through videos posted on our social media channels. Contact us to find out more.
