Our education webinar series will explore the DARE application process, completing the CAO and options for further education and training.  

DARE stands for Disability Access Route to Education. The scheme offers reduced points places to school leavers who, as a result of having a disability or significant illness (like childhood or adolescent cancer), have experienced additional educational challenges in second level. These webinars are of interest to parents and students who are in senior cycle, including 5th and 6th year.

 1. Understanding the DARE application: Tuesday 25th November at 7pm

In the first of our webinar series, we are joined by Ann Marie Curran, Disability Outreach Officer, University of Galway. Ann Marie will discuss the DARE entry route into third level education for students following a cancer diagnosis and treatment.  

She will outline how to complete the DARE application, including necessary documentation required, deadlines and completing your personal statement. 

2. Completing the CAO: Tuesday 9th December at 7pm

In the second of our webinar series, we are once again joined by Ann Marie Curran, Disability Outreach Officer, University of Galway. Ann Marie will talk us through completing the CAO form, ahead of the Feb 1st CAO. 

Ann Marie will guide you through the application process, share important dates and answer any questions you may have. 

3. Further education & training options: Monday 12th January at 7pm

In the third of our webinar series, we will explore options for further education and training for young people moving on from secondary school. Further education offers a huge range of courses nationwide.  

In this webinar we will be joined by Pat Buckley & Helen Wade, Adult Guidance Counsellors with over 20 years’ experience supporting people into education and employment.
